On Saturday night moe. began their inaugural “Famoe.ly Holiday Concert” series in Port Chester, New York with a performance at The Capitol Theatre. moe. mixed heavy rotation favorites with new songs and holiday classics over the course of two sets and an encore.
The band kicked off the evening with “New York City” ahead of a cover of Vince Guaraldi’s “Linus & Lucy,” which was last played by moe. in 2013. “Head” came next and saw moe. work in “Zed Nought Z” before concluding the tune. The set rolled on with the group’s first take on the traditional “Oh Hanukkah” since 2013, a new original titled “Angel” on a stage setlist and a well-jammed “Recreational Chemistry.”
moe. opened the second set with “Puebla” and then treated fans to another new original, tentatively titled “Don’t Wanna Be.” It was then back to holiday songs for “Carol Of The Bells” ahead of “Downward Facing Dog.” The band then trotted out a new song written by bassist Rob Derhak that moe. previewed during a recent Facebook Live session. Fan-favorite sequence “Four” > “Buster” then brought the second set to a close. When moe. returned for the encore, Derhak was dressed as Santa Claus. Up first in the encore was the moe. debut of “Father Christmas” followed by the band’s first “We’re A Couple Of Misfits” in three years. Next up for moe. is a brunch performance at Garcia’s in Port Chester today.
