The Marcus King Band was part of the lineup for the Candler Park Music & Food Festival held in Atlanta last weekend. The group’s afternoon set on Saturday, June 3 included a cover performance of a classic The Allman Brothers Band song.

While in the state that was the longtime home of The Allman Brothers Band, guitarist Marcus King led his ensemble through a rendition of “Dreams,” which was written by Gregg Allman who had passed away days prior at the age of 69. The set also saw takes on “The Man You Didn’t Know,” “Self Hatred,” “Rita Is Gone” and “Plant Your Corn Early” from last year’s self-titled The Marcus King Band LP, as well as a closing cover of Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs.”
