Full Show Audio: Keller Williams’ Grateful Gospel & John Kadlecik Ring In New Year In Baltimore

Ram’s Head Live in Baltimore hosted a New Year’s Eve concert featuring Keller Williams and The John Kadlecik Band. KDub performed solo, then John K.’s band took the stage before Williams welcomed Kadlecik to join his Grateful Gospel ensemble to close out the collaborative evening.

With Kadlecik on guitar and vocals, John’s band was rounded out by Klyph Black on bass and Nathan Graham on drums. Their set included Grateful Dead favorites “Lazy River Road” and “Brown Eyed Women” and saw Black take lead vocals on “Box Of Rain.” The set also featured originals such as “Hard Highway” and “Sister Smiles” and closed with Eric Clapton’s “Gotta Get Better In A Little While.”

Kadlecik then joined Keller Williams’ Grateful Gospel made up of drummer Toby Fairchild, keyboardist Benjie Porecki, bassist EJ Shaw and vocalists Sugah Davis, Therochelle Ryquita Owens Moore​, Tonya Lazenby-Jackson and Samantha Reed for a set focusing on more classic Dead material. Following the New Year’s Eve countdown, 2017 kicked off with “Eyes Of The World” that was jammed into “The Wheel.” The set also featured Jerry Garcia Band staples “My Sisters And Brothers,” “Midnight Moonlight” and “Who Was John?” and other Dead anthems such as “St. Stephen,” “Franklin’s Tower,” “Brokedown Palace” and “Feel Like A Stranger.” The collective offered up the JGB regular “Ride Mighty High” as the evening’s encore, drawing the show in Baltimore to a close.
