Full Show Audio: Joe Russo’s Almost Dead Shares Recording From Ogden Theatre

Last year Grateful Dead tribute act Joe Russo’s Almost Dead held a run of shows through Colorado that included a stop at the Ogden Theatre in Denver on December 15. JRAD has shared a soundboard/audience matrix recording of the concert as part of their ongoing Taper Tuesdays series.

Drummer Joe Russo, guitarists Tom Hamilton and Scott Metzger, keyboardist Marco Benevento and bassist Dave Dreiwitz got down to business at the Ogden with “Don’t Ease Me In” and kept the music coming through the first set closing “Shakedown Street.” First half highlights also included Marco bridging “Loser” with “The Eleven” with a flurry of themes.

JRAD restarted the party by opening set two with “The Golden Road (To Unlimited Devotion).” A complete rendition of the “Terrapin Suite” and an excursion into “King Solomon’s Marbles” anchored most of the second set. The band took the opportunity to finish a rendition of “The Wheel” begun at the Ogden on February 15, 2015 within a set ending take on “Good Lovin.’”
