The Thursday pre-party at this year’s installment of Suwannee Hulaween at The Spirit Of The Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida featured one long and scorching set from Grateful Dead tribute act Joe Russo’s Almost Dead. Yesterday, the band unveiled a crispy soundboard matrix recording of the set as the launch of a series dubbed “Taper Tuesdays.”

Almost Dead’s Hulaween set featured one highlight after another including a stellar “Dancing In The Streets,” an impressive “Estimated Prophet” > “Eyes Of The World” > “The Music Never Stopped” sequence, a jam on Radiohead’s “Myxomatosis” and a rousing combination of “Help”/”Slipknot!”/”Franklin’s” and “China”/”Rider” with a few stops along the way. Thanks for the band and archivist Eric McRoberts for this incredible recording.

Joe Russo’s Almost Dead heads west this weekend for performances at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas on Friday and Oakland’s Fox Theater on Saturday.
