Full Show Audio: Gov’t Mule Honors Traffic At Mule-O-Ween Show In Albany
By Andy Kahn Nov 3, 2016 • 9:15 am PDT
Last Saturday Gov’t Mule held a concert at the Palace Theatre in Albany, New York that was their annual Mule-O-Ween celebratory Halloween performance. A complete audience recording of the October 29 Mule gig that included a guest-filled tribute to Traffic has been shared.
Guitarist Warren Haynes, drummer Matt Abts, keyboardist Danny Louis and bassist Jorgen Carlsson followed their first set with a second set honoring Traffic. Horn player Steve Elson and percussionist Bobby Allende expanded the quartet to a sextet for the tribute segment that featured such favorites as “Pearly Queen,” “Empty Pages,” “(Sometimes I Feel So) Uninspired,” Medicated Goo,” “Low Spark Of High-Heeled Boys” and “Light Up Or Leave Me Alone.”
Not satisfied with the mid-set rendition of “(Sometimes I Feel So) Uninspired,” Haynes and the collective gave it a second shot to start the encore and followed it with a rendition of “Dear Mr. Fantasy.” Head here for a full review, photo gallery and videos from Mule-O-Ween and listen to an audience recording below.
