One week from today King Crimson launches an 18-date tour that marks the project’s first U.S. shows since 2008. The band for these shows consists of Gavin Harrison (drums), Bill Rieflin (drums), Pat Mastelotto (drums), Tony Levin (bass and vocals), Mel Collins (Sax, flute), Jakko Jakszyk (guitar, vocals) and Robert Fripp (guitar). Yesterday, Fripp launched a new YouTube channel for his DGM Live label that will focus on “all things King Crimson.”

So far, four videos have been posted and they include a snippet of a classic performance from 1969 and a three-drummer solo from a recent rehearsal. First off, here’s Fripp’s introduction to the channel:

Next up is a clip of “20th Century Schizoid Man” filmed live at England’s Hyde Park in 1969:

From more recent times, watch as King Crimson’s three drummers:Pat Mastelotto, Bill Rieflin & Gavin Harrison, take a solo during rehearsals for the US tour at Elstree studios:

Finally, check out Fripp’s Skype chat with his wife, Toyah, about the work that went into preparing for the tour and what fans can expect:

We’re hoping Fripp and the DGM Live team keep the channel flowing with live footage from both the upcoming tour and classic performances.
