Fred Armisen, Bill Hader & Maya Rudolph Reveal ‘Stop Making Sense’ Talking Heads Parody

An upcoming episode of Fred Armisen and Bill Hader’s Documentary Now! television program will parody the classic Talking Heads concert film Stop Making Sense. Fellow Saturday Night Live album Maya Rudolph will also appear and perform in the musical spoof.

According to the announcement, the trio of comedians will be performing together as the fake band Test Pattern tomorrow at San Gabriel Mission Playhouse in San Gabriel, California. The taping will be hosted by comedian John Mulaney and will be open for free to the first 200 people (18+) that attend.

The flyer also indicates “80’s attire gets you best seats,” though Armisen explained, “don’t worry too much about dressing completely 80’s. These would be fans of art rock as well as new wave. Maybe some of those little plastic cameras with flash? Also, we might do the whole set twice.”
