Foo Fighters Play Surprise Set At 9:30 Club

Foo Fighters performances have been few and far between since the band ended a marathon tour in 2012. First, Dave Grohl & Co. took a break and more recently they’ve been working on the follow-up to 2011’s Wasting Light. Last night the Foos played a surprise set at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC as part of a birthday party for Big Tony Fisher of D.C. go-go legends Trouble Funk.

Not only did Grohl perform with the Foos, but he also collaborated with Peter Stahl, Bad Brains Darryl Jenifer and Dr. Know under the moniker “The Don’t Need It’s” earlier in the evening according to Consequence of Sound. Grohl even took the opportunity to perform a top a bar as the famed venue.

The Foo Fighters’s set contained 17 songs played over the course of two hours. We’ve still yet to get a taste of the new album as the set only included previously-performed tunes from throughout the band’s career including five songs off Wasting Light.
