Florida hasn’t exactly been kind to music festivals over the years, but that hasn’t stopped promoters from trying to launch an event that catches on. We’re glad to see the Gasparilla Music Festival will return in 2014 and a new event called the Big Guava Music Festival is also set for later this year. The lineups for both events have now been released.

Live Nation Florida is behind the Big Guava Music Festival, a three-day event set to place between May 2 and 4 at the Mid-Florida Credit Union Amphitheatre and the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa. Forty-five bands will perform at the festival including headliners Outkast, Vampire Weekend and Slightly Stoopid. Other acts aboard for the event are Foster The People, Cake, Tegan and Sara, Violent Femmes, Girl Talk, Earl Sweatshirt, Grouplove, Haim, Twenty One Pilots, Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience, Chance The Rapper, Walk The Moon, Blue October, Band Of Skulls, ZZ Ward, MS MR, Timeflies, Hoodie Allen, American Authors, Deap Vally, St. Lucia, Smallpools, Bear Hands, Morning Parade, Kitten, Magic Man, Jacuzzi Boys, Gringo Star, Unlike Candidates, Vic Mensa, Terraplane Sun, Jessica Hernandez and The Deltas and Fly Union. An early-bird on sale begins this afternoon at 5PM before the general on sale kicks off on Saturday at 10 a.m. via Live Nation.

Gasparilla Music Festival returns to Curtis Hixon Park and Kiley Gardens in Tampa on March 8 and 9. The Flaming Lips, Trombone Shorty, RJD2, Delta Spirit, Jason Isbell, Los Amigos Invisibles, Anders Osborne, J Roddy Walston & the Business, Culture, The Soul Rebels, Tea Leaf Green, Spam Allstars, Hackensaw Boys, Benjamin Booker, Alexander & the Grapes and Good Graeff are all on the initial lineup, with more acts expected to be announced soon. Advance tickets are on sale now for $60.
