FirstMerit Bank Pavilion Addresses Fan Concerns Regarding Upcoming Phish Shows

DELAY STACKS AND MORE BEER STANDS FOR ALL

FirstMerit Bank Pavilion, formerly Charter One Pavilion, in Chicago had a bit of a rocky start to the beginning of its concert season, ultimately issuing refunds to attendees of the Jimmy Buffett concert that sat on the venue’s newly expanded lawn section. In a move of great proactive communication and transparency, the venue and Live Nation have taken to Facebook to address Phish fan concerns, most importantly noting that Phish is bringing multiple delay stacks to, “ensure optimal sound coverage across the entire lawn.”

This weekend’s three Phish shows at the venue will also be webcast.

As luck would have it, today is the last day to enter our contest for a pair of tickets to all three nights.

Hello Phish Fans,

Here at the FirstMerit Bank Pavilion in Chicago, we are aware of Phish fan concerns that have come from feedback from our first concert of the season at the end of June. We know you are as excited as we are about the band’s return to the Chicagoland area and, in advance of the shows, we wanted to share with you some of our extensive preparations. We are working closely with the Phish organization to ensure that every aspect of FirstMerit Bank Pavilion will make for a great concert experience.

Here’s an overview of some of the relevant areas:

Sound: While other artists have opted to use a single delay system, Phish is bringing in multiple delay towers to ensure optimal sound coverage across the entire lawn.

Lawn: Our landscaping team has done extensive work over the past couple of weeks, and we are pleased to report that the lawn has completely dried out.There will be sanded areas in some portions of the lawn and it will be a great place to view the show, along with the magnificent vistas of the Chicago skyline.

Concessions & Facilities: We’ve added several areas to buy concessions — the beverages will be ice cold and we will have plenty of them.In addition, we’ve expanded the variety of menu items. There will be select $4 12 oz. beers for sale throughout the venue and, in addition to our typical selection, there will be a microbrew tent on the lawn. We have also increased the number of restrooms throughout the site.
