Electric Forest :: 6.26.16 :: Double JJ Ranch :: Rothbury, MI
The 2016 installment of the Electric Forest festival concluded on Sunday in Rothbury, Michigan with the weather cooperating for a warm and beautiful afternoon and evening. The String Cheese Incident’s EF ’16 finale was a guest-filled affair as members of Greensky Bluegrass aided SCI on covers of Prince’s “When Doves Cry” and J.J. Cale’s “Call Me The Breeze,” while Umphrey’s McGee keyboardist Joel Cummins added to “Bumpin’ Reel” and dobro wiz Anders Beck sat-in on “Restless Wind” and “I Know You Rider.”
Cummins also performed with Aqueous on “Don’t Do It” and with Turbo Suit on the band’s last hurrah. Stick Figure impressed, while Greensky drew a huge crowd and Sunsquabi shined as the sun baked those in attendance. The Nth Power treated festivalgoers to a soul-stirring set, Russ Liquid sat-in with GRiZ and Beats Antique focused on material from their forthcoming album Shadowbox.
