Faith No More Confirms 1st Shows Since 2016 With System Of A Down

Faith No More will return to the stage for the first time in over a decade early next year. The legendary rock band announced a series of four early 2027 stadium shows in Australia and New Zealand with System of a Down.

The brief co-headlining trek marks the first shows for Faith No More since they last took the stage in 2016. The joint 2027 run begins at Sydney’s Accor Stadium on January 22. Stops in Melbourne (January 27), Brisbane (February 1) and Wellington (February 7) follow.

Faith No More were set to tour in 2020 before COVID-19 delayed the plans. The excursion was ultimately scrapped when frontman Mike Patton canceled all of his upcoming shows in September 2021, citing mental health reasons.

Anticipation for Faith No More’s reunion hit a fevered pitch last month, when the band posted a photo of their eight-pointed star logo on social media with the text “2027.” Bassist Bill Gould confirmed the band’s return one day later during his appearance on the Rock Talk podcast.

“Yeah, we’re gonna do it. We’re gonna play. Yeah, we’re gonna do it,” Gould told host Jadranka Jankovic Nesic as Consequence reported.

“Our music is very physical, and a big concern is, like, pretty soon we’re not gonna be able to do this the way we wrote it. We wrote it as 20-year-olds and it’s always been very physical. It has to be that way. I can’t play the song if I’m not like that, honestly. With my bass parts, I just can’t do it. But we all kind of decided, like, we think we can do it. I think that we can do it for a few more years, and we can do it the right way, so we’re gonna give it a go,” Gould added.

Tickets for all dates go on sale to the public Friday, July 31 after a series of presales.
