Faces Reunite With Rod Stewart 40 Years After Breakup

Forty years after legendary rock act Faces parted ways, three surviving members of the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame band performed a scorching 45-minute set together on Saturday at the Hurtwood Polo Club in Ewhurst, Surrey, England. The six-song performance took place in front of 5,000 fans and featured Rod Stewart, Ron Wood and Kenney Jones backed by a band that included female vocalists and a horn section.
Faces ’15 opened with “I Feel So Good,” a Big Bill Boonzy cover off the band’s 1971 album Long Player. Next up was the last single Faces released, “You Can Make Me Dance, Sing or Anything.” The group honored bassist Ronnie Lane, who passed away in 1997, by performing his signature song – “Ooh La La.” Faces slowed down the pace with a cover of Etta James’ “I’d Rather Go Blind” before picking the energy up on their rendition of The Temptations’ “(I Know) I’m Losing You.” Stewart and Co. ended the show by turning back the clock with powerful takes on hits “Stay With Me” and “Sweet Little Rock & Roller.”
As for now there are no future Faces gigs scheduled.
