Metzger, who also performs with a variety of projects including Joe Russo’s Almost Dead and Bustle In Your Hedgerow as well as contributed to sessions from the likes of Anders Osborne, Shooter Jennings, Craig Finn & Kelli Scarr, takes an inventive approach with the instrumental WOLF! trio. “One of the primary concepts behind WOLF! is the pure signal from guitar into amp,” explains Metzger. “I don’t hide my sound behind gadgets. I’m into getting a direct, solid tone and having focused, direct ideas.” Scott’s telecaster is at the forefront of the group’s sound which also benefits greatly from the stellar rhythm section of bassist Jon Shaw and drummer Taylor Floreth.
