Chappell Roan performed with Elton John at this year’s 33rd Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party at West Hollywood Park in West Hollywood on Sunday night. Roan’s set ended with her dueting with John on his “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me” and her anthem “Pink Pony Club.”
“I officially joined the Pink Pony Club last night, courtesy of the one and only Chappell Roan!,” Elton John wrote on social media. “‘Performing ‘Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me’ and ‘Pink Pony Club’ together at [the Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscars After-Party] was truly special and a moment I will never forget. Thank you for being there and supporting EJAF, Chappell.”
“For one night, we transformed West Hollywood Park into our own Pink Pony Club,” John added. “A space filled with love and community, where everyone can be unapologetically themselves!”
Chappell Roan’s performance also saw the pop star cover Elton John’s classic “Your Song.” Sunday’s post-Academy Awards event raised over $8.6 million for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
