Guitarist Dweezil Zappa will bring his band back on the road this spring for a lengthy tour. Dweezil has curated an all new show filled “with some of Frank Zappa’s boldest compositions” or what Dweezil dubs, “A collection of the meatiest tracks.”
The band formerly known as Zappa Plays Zappa will begin the tour in Scottsdale on March 30. From there, Dweezil & Co. will visit Albuquerque, Oklahoma City, Fayetteville, Kansas City, Memphis, Birmingham, Atlanta, Macon and Charleston. A Northeast portion of the run will include stops in Providence, Montclair, Stowe, Montreal, Toronto, Buffalo, Ithaca, Tarrytown, Glenside, Hartford, Albany, Boston, Asbury Park, Huntington and Washington, D.C.
The guitarist and his ensemble continue the tour at Pittsburgh’s Rex on April 29 ahead of Midwest stops in Kent, Ohio; Royal Oak, Michigan; Indianapolis; Milwaukee; Iowa City; St. Charles, Illinois and St. Louis. Zappa is currently slated to end the leg with visits to Dallas, Austin, Houston and New Orleans. Look for more dates to be announced soon.
