Dumpstaphunk will present “Rejuvenation 50: Celebration of The Meters” at the Civic Theatre in New Orleans on Thursday, May 2. The Meters co-foundering bassist George Porter Jr. and guitarist Leo Nocentelli as well as longtime member percussionist Cyril Neville are aboard as special guests.

The Meters released their otherworldly Rejuvenation album in 1974. Co-produced by the band and Allen Toussaint, the record includes such standout songs as “People Say,” “Just Kissed My Baby,” “Hey Pocky A-Way,” “It Ain’t No Use” and “Africa.” Dumpstaphunk’s show, held during the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, will consist of a 50th anniversary album set and more.
