Duane Betts shared an acoustic rendition of his song, “Colors Fade,” performed with longtime collaborator Johnny Stachela. The track originally appears in a full band format on Duane Betts’ debut solo album, Wild & Precious Life.
Wild & Precious Life arrived on July 14, 2023 via Royal Potato Family. The record saw guest turns from Derek Trucks, Marcus King and Nicki Bluhm, the latter appearing on the Wild & Precious Life version of “Colors Fade.”

Duane detailed recording the gorgeous acoustic version of “Colors Fade” captured before the death of his father, Allman Brothers Band co-founder Dickey Betts, who passed away in April.
“Johnny Stachela and I recorded this in the study of my dad’s house as he listened down the hall while we played,” Duane said. “For that reason alone, it’s a very special memory. I think you can hear the magic we were both feeling as we were performing the song.”
