THE 12th ANNUAL DOHENY BLUES FESTIVAL MAY 16 & 17, 2009

Omega Events recently announced the line-up for the 12th Annual Doheny Blues Festival, scheduled for May 16 and 17. The nationally-recognized music festival celebrates the best of Blues, R&B and Roots music on the beach in South Orange County, California.

B.B. King is the undisputed, worldwide King of the Blues, a 15-time Grammy Award® Winner. Brian Setzer has been the leader of two popular music revivals: Rockabilly, with his chart-topping band The Stray Cats; and swing music, with Brian Setzer and his rockin’ Orchestra.

“We have always looked to the future when programming Doheny Blues, and this year is no exception with The Derek Trucks Band, Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings, and Grace Potter and The Nocturnals,” continues Sherman. “From top to bottom, this year’s Doheny lineup is our strongest yet!” Also playing during the weekend: Keb’ Mo’, Buckwheat Zydeco, Elvin Bishop and Ruthie Foster.

WHAT ELSE: Various attractions will be located throughout the festival grounds: International Food Court; Microbrew Tasting at The Backporch, eclectic Vendor Village; sponsor displays; and the Blackstone Wine Lounge.

BACKPORCH: The Backporch, the third stage of music, is an intimate setting where fans can experience acoustic sets, including John Hammond, Ruthie Foster, Cedric Burnside & Lightnin’ Malcolm and Big Sandy & The Fly-Rite Boys.

TICKET PRICES: General admission tickets will be $48 per day, $78 for a 2-day pass, kids (6-12) only $13. VIP & Backstage Passes are also available.
