Watch My Bloody Valentine’s Kevin Shields Join Dinosaur Jr. On The Cure Cover & More In London

Dinosaur Jr.’s residency at The Garage in London celebrating the 30th anniversary of their 1993 album Where You Been concluded on Wednesday with their fourth of four concerts. As with the other shows on the run, several guests joined the band, including My Bloody Valentine guitarist Kevin Shields.

Shields sat-in with Dinosaur Jr. on Tuesday (November 14) and again on Wednesday (November 15). Both appearances featured collaborative takes on “Thorn” from MBV’s 1988 EP, You Made Me Realise, and “Tarpit” from Dinosaur Jr.’s 1987 album, You’re Living All Over Me. The pair of guest spots also saw covers of The Cure’s “Just Like Heaven.”

One of the other guests who joined Dinosaur Jr. during their residency at The Garage was Shields’ MBV bandmate, bassist Debbie Googe. Dinosaur Jr. guitarist J Mascis, who this week announced his fifth solo album, What Do We Do Now, was accompanied by an impressive roster of guest guitarists during the run, which included Shields, Mogwai guitarist Stuart Braithwaite, Eater guitarist Andy Blade, Suede guitarist Bernard Butler, Blur guitarist Graham Coxon and Primal Scream guitarists Andrew Innes and Barrie Cadogan, among others.
