Along with the previously mentioned performers, the event also produced by Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg will see performances by Detroit musicians Slum Village and Illa J, Theo Parrish, Sky Jetta, and The Clark Sisters with Kierra Sheard and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Other musical participants include Common, Fantasia, Melissa Etheridge and Jelly Roll, among additional special guests.

Presenters representing Detroit at the concert will be Detroit Lions legend and NFL Hall Of Famer Barry Sanders and current Lions stars Jared Goff and Amon-Ra St. Brown, as well as Judge Greg Mathis, Loni Love, Sam Richardson, and Taylor Lautner. Mike Epps and Sophia Bush are also on board as presenters.

“Detroit is known around the world for its musical talent, and having so many legendary artists kick off the celebration for the reopening of the iconic Michigan Central Station shows how meaningful this moment is for our city,” said Detroit mayor Mike Duggan. “This historic landmark symbolizes Detroit’s resilience, innovation, and now, its bright future. This is about more than preserving a piece of our past. It also is about paving the way for a new era of growth and opportunity for all Detroiters.”

Michigan Central Station opened in 1913 and at the time was the tallest train depot in the world. Socio-economic factors led to the station’s closure in 1988. Michigan Central remained closed until the Detroit-based Ford Motor Company purchased the building in 2018 and initiated a massive restoration of the historic space.

“We wanted to celebrate the reopening of Michigan Central Station in style and make it a night to remember for Detroiters and people watching around the world,” said Bill Ford, executive chair of Ford. “I am honored and grateful that so many of Detroit’s musical legends, sports heroes, artists and innovators are joining us to celebrate the city we all love and the bright future we are creating together.”

Part of an ongoing rejuvenation of the Detroit Metro area, Michigan Central Station “will become a vibrant public destination for Detroiters and all who visit the region, and serve as the centerpiece of the Michigan Central technology and cultural hub located at the gateway between the historic Corktown and Southwest Detroit neighborhoods. With 640,000 square feet of future retail, hospitality, event and collaborative innovation spaces, The Station will support the 30-acre Michigan Central innovation ecosystem by accommodating larger tenants and established companies, attracting and retaining technology talent and drawing in diverse businesses. The landmark will also be a stop on Detroit’s greenway plan, uniting dozens of local neighborhoods across the city to create a more connected Detroit.”
