UPDATE: Dead & Company confirmed they will perform at the Las Vegas Sphere with a video teasing a full announcement to come.
Following a report last month, sources for the New York Post believe Dead & Company will soon confirm a 14-date residency at the Las Vegas Sphere. According to the new report, the announcement could come sometime this week.
The New York Post article speculated the purported Dead & Company Sphere residency would begin in May. Dead & Company — guitarists Bob Weir and John Mayer, bassist Oteil Burbridge, keyboardist Jeff Chimenti and drummers Mickey Hart and Jay Lane — brought their final tour to a close on July 16, 2023. After the show, members issued statements leaving open the possibility for future performances.

“Dead & Company is still a band – we just don’t know what the next show will be,” wrote John Mayer shortly after the end of the final tour.
Representatives for Dead & Co. and the Sphere again declined to comment on The Post’s latest report, which also noted Beyoncé as a potential act being targeted by the state-of-the-art venue. Further indicating a potential run from the band is imminent was a display of the Grateful Dead’s stealie logo on the exterior of the Sphere on Tuesday night:
U2 opened the long-in-the-making Las Vegas Sphere on September 29, 2023, with their first of 40 U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere shows in the space. The band’s residency at the Sphere wraps on March 2.
Phish will be the second band to play the Sphere when they play a four-night stand on April 18 – 21.
