Dawes brought their fall tour to the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Sunday night. Country star Brad Paisley came out for a song towards the middle of the concert after the band paid tribute to Kris Kristofferson.
The setlist went heavy on material featured on Dawes’ recently released album, Oh Brother. Six songs from the LP were played at The Ryman including opener “Mister Los Angeles” and the evening’s “Hilarity Ensues” encore.

Winnetka Bowling League served as support last night as they will be throughout the month. Dawes brought out Winnetka Bowling League’s Matthew Coma to play guitar and help sing “Comes In Waves” early in the show.
Dawes frontman Taylor Goldsmith then went solo acoustic on a debut cover of Kris Kristofferson’s “The Pilgrim, Chapter 33.” Kristofferson, who released the original in 1971, died in September at age 88. Goldsmith noted the first time he heard the song was at The Ryman.
Taylor Goldsmith kept the acoustic on and invited Paisley to the stage for a performance of Oh Brother lead single “House Parties.” The locally-based singer-songwriter/guitarist previously sant-in with Dawes at The Ryman in March 2023.

Dawes’ history with Brad Paisley also includes opening for the country singer and Taylor co-writing “Same Here” with Brad and Lee Thomas Miller. “Same Here,” which features Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, was the first single from Paisley’s 2023 album, Son of the Mountains. Additionally, Brad Paisley joined Dawes for the “House Parties” live music video.
The collaborative rendition of “House Parties” at The Ryman saw Paisley reel off rollicking riffs. Brad Paisley also helmed a verse of the song and connected with Taylor Goldsmith on the verses.
