David Gilmour Welcomes David Crosby At First U.S. Show In Ten Years

By Scott Bernstein Mar 25, 2016 6:33 am PDT

Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour kicked off his first U.S. tour in a decade last night at the iconic Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Gilmour was joined by legendary performer David Crosby for portions of the 22-song performance in Southern California.

Both Crosby and Graham Nash contributed to the last two David Gilmour albums, 2006’s On An Island and last year’s Rattle That Lock. David and Graham sat-in with Gilmour last September in London, but Nash recently spoke about his current issues with Crosby so it’s not a surprise the two didn’t share the stage at the Hollywood Bowl.

Last night’s setlist was almost identical to the ones used at past Rattle That Lock Tour performances. Crosby first emerged in the middle of the first set to assist on solo Gilmour cuts “A Boat Lies Waiting” and “The Blue.” He returned during the second set for “On An Island” and also added to “Comfortably Numb” as part of the encore. “Time,” “Run Like Hell,” “Money” and “Wish You Were Here” were among other Pink Floyd classics to make the setlist. The tour continues tonight with a second show at the Hollywood Bowl.
