On June 1, David Byrne will host and curate a one-night only event dubbed the “How Music Works Variety Show,” at New York City’s Town Hall. The show coincides with an updated release of his 2012 book How Music Works, which includes a new chapter on the latest developments in music discovery.

Here’s what the former Talking Heads’ frontman has to say about what to expect from the How Music Works Variety Show:

I’ll introduce you to some amazing performers that inspire me! I did something similar related to bikes and urbanism some years ago…This music event will include all sorts of performance: music, of course, but also magic, theater, dance, science and humor… and more.

Tickets for the exclusive event are on sale now via Ticketmaster. Additionally, Byrne will also participate in a Reddit AMA on Thursday, May 11 from 2 – 3 p.m. ET.
