‘David Bowie – Who Can I Be Now? (1974 – 1976)’ Box Set Details Emerge

As reported, a new David Bowie box set will include his previously unreleased album The Gouster. The full details of the retrospective David Bowie – Who Can I Be Now? (1974 – 1976) have been shared.

Parlophone Records will release the 12-CD box, 13-LP vinyl set and digital download on September 23. Along with The Gouster, the second in the series of box sets that follows-up David Bowie – Five Years (1969 – 1973) also includes Diamond Dogs, David Live (in original and 2005 mixes), Young Americans, Station To Station (in original and 2010 mixes), Live Nassau Coliseum 76 and the non-album b-sides and reworked singles compilation Re:Call 2.

Described by producer Tony Visconti as “40 minutes of glorious funk,” The Gouster is composed partly of tracks that were featured on Bowie’s 1975 album Young Americans. It also features an extended, funky reworking of his 1972 single “John, I’m Only Dancing” retitled as “John, I’m Only Dancing (Again).”

The box sets also contain extensive photos and liner notes, as well as a handwritten note by Bowie regarding his intentions for The Gouster. More information, including the complete tracklisting, can be found here.
