Later this summer a new live archival release featuring a Dave Matthews solo show from 1996 will be available for pre-order. Live At Sweet Briar College includes Dave’s fabled April 14, 1996 performance and will be issued as a 2-CD set.
All proceeds from the release will benefit Sweet Briar College, a women’s liberal arts college near Lynchburg, Virginia that was set to close last year when a group of alumnae and friends came together to save the school. While few details of the upcoming release have been shared, audio of “Pay For What You Get” from Live At Sweet Briar College was recently posted in honor of Sweet Briar College’s Class Of 1996 reunion. Last night Matthews brought DMB to PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey. The group’s performance focused on tour staples including “Warehouse,” “Satellite,” “Grey Street” and the recently debuted originals “Bismarck” and “Samurai Cop.”
