Dave Matthews Band Treats Charlotte To Four Tour Debuts

The Dave Matthews Band‘s 25th Anniversary Tour continued last night at the PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte, North Carolina. While DMB went on with the show despite its opposition to the state’s recently passed HB2 or “bathroom” law, the group donated a portion of proceeds from the evening to five charitable organizations through its Bama Works Fund. Fans in North Carolina were treated to four tour debuts from Matthews and his mates as the band digs deep into its repertoire.

DMB opened with a pair of tour debuts, “Squirm” and “So Right,” in Charlotte. As with all four tour debuts, the two songs were played last fall by the band. Later in the set the Dave Matthews Band dusted off “If Only” and “Rooftop” for the first time this tour. The rest of the show featured a mix of classics such as “Tripping Billies,” “Warehouse” and “Proudest Monkey” with more recently debuted material including “Bismarck,” “Bob Law” and “Samurai Cop.”

Portions of proceeds from last night’s concert went to American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), Lambda Legal, ACLU of North Carolina, Equality NC, and Time Out Youth. DMB came up with the list of charities by working with NC Needs You, an organization that encourages artists to keep their dates in North Carolina in order to bring awareness and resources to the fight for equality in response to House Bill 2.
