Dave Matthews Band worked a debut cover of The Rolling Stones’ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” into their first of two shows at Bank Of New Hampshire Pavilion in Gilford, New Hampshire on Tuesday night. The cover was played on the same day The Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts died at age 80.
“You Never Know” got the call to open last night’s DMB concert and was followed by “Do You Remember” from 2018’s Come Tomorrow. The septet then put the focus on oldies including pairings of “Dancing Nancies” and “Warehouse,” “Proudest Monkey” and “Satellite” and “So Much To Say” with “Anyone Seen The Bridge” and “Too Much.”

“(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” brought a wild sequence towards the end of DMB’s main set to a close. Dave Matthews and his bandmates continued a trend seen this tour by jamming “Jimi Thing” into partial covers of Huey Lewis & The News’ “I Want A New Drug” and Prince’s “Sexy M.F.” Last night, however, the “Sexy M.F.” coda gave way to The Rolling Stones’ “Bitch.” The horn-driven bit of “Bitch” was just a tease as Dave Matthews Band dropped into their first ever “Satisfaction.” Matthews belted out the lyrics to The Stones’ 1965 single while the crowd sang along.
DMB went on to end the set with a run featuring “Louisiana Bayou,” “Shake Me Like A Monkey,” “Funny The Way It Its,” “You & Me” and “Grey Street.” Matthews emerged by himself to start the encore with a solo “Singing From The Windows,” a song he first played last year that has been a staple this tour. The rest of the band then returned to say farewell with “Don’t Drink The Water.”
