Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit were among the acts to pay tribute to The Rolling Stones’ Charlie Watts on Tuesday following the drummer's death. The band dusted off two The Rolling Stones covers to end their concert last night at TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park in Indianapolis.

Isbell, Sadler Vaden, Jimbo Hart, Chad Gamble and Derry deBorja kicked off their 19-song performance in Indianapolis with “Overseas” and “It Gets Easier” from 2020’s Reunions. The quintet also represented their latest studio album last night with “Letting You Go,” “Dreamsicle,” “Be Afraid,” “What’ve I Done To Help” and “Be Afraid.” A cute moment came after “Letting You Go,” when Jason’s daughter, Mercy Rose, emerged from sidestage to wave to the crowd.

The group closed their main set in Indianapolis with “Stockholm” and “Cover Me Up” from 2013’s Southeastern split by “Speed Trap Town” and followed by “Decoration Day” from Jason’s time in Drive-By Truckers. Isbell and his mates returned to begin their encore with their first and only other cover of The Rolling Stones’ “Moonlight Mile” since November 6, 2014 as per Setlist.FM. The five-piece then capped the night with a raucous “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking,” another song from The Stones’ iconic 1971 album, Sticky Fingers. “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking” was last played by the band on September 18, 2019 according to Setlist.FM’s stats.
