Watch Dave Matthews Band’s Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Induction & Performance

DMB covered fellow Rock Hall Of Famers the Talking Heads at the event in Cleveland.

Dave Matthews Band officially joined the ranks of the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame at the induction ceremony held Saturday at Cleveland’s Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. This year’s class of performer inductees also included Cher, Mary J. Blige, A Tribe Called Quest, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Kool & The Gang and Ozzy Osbourne.

Saturday’s Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Ceremony also honored Jimmy Buffett, MC5, Dionne Warwick and Norman Whitfield with Musical Excellence Awards. Big Mama Thornton, John Mayall and Alexis Korner were recognized with Musical Influence Awards. Suzanne de Passe was given the Ahmet Ertegun Award.

Actor Julia Roberts gave a speech inducting Dave Matthews Band into the Rock Hall. Frontman Dave Matthews and current members Carter Beauford, Stefan Lessard, Tim Reynolds, Rashawn Ross and Jeff Coffin, as well as former members Boyd Tinsley and the late LeRoi Moore, were bestowed the prestigious honor.

Dave Matthews Band took the stage at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse and performed a medley of their well-known songs, cycling through “Ants Marching,” “Crash Into Me,” “So Much to Say” and “Too Much.” DMB capped their RRHOF performance by covering “Burning Down The House” by Talking Heads, who were inducted in 2002.

Dave Matthews took part in a tribute to Jimmy Buffett that also featured James Taylor, Kenny Chesney and Mac McAnally. Matthews performed the late singer-songwriter’s poignant ballad “A Pirate Looks At Forty.”

Other collaborative performances at Saturday’s ceremony included Keith Urban joining Peter Frampton, pop star Dua Lipa joining Cher, and Dionne Warwick accompanied by Jennifer Hudson.

A Tribe Called Quest was honored with a performance by Queen Latifah, Busta Rhymes, Common, De La Soul and The Roots. Original Kool and the Gang members Robert “Kool” Bell and James “J.T.” Taylor reunited to perform at the ceremony. Mary J. Blige also took the stage to perform some of her best-known songs.

Ozzy Osbourne, who was inducted in 2006 as a member of Black Sabbath, was honored with a performance featuring Zakk Wylde, Jelly Roll, Andrew Watt, Wolfgang Van Halen, Billy Idol, Tool’s Maynard James Keenan, Metallica’s Robert Trujillo and Red Hot Chili PeppersChad Smith.

Foreigner was honored with a performance featuring the band’s current touring lineup along with Sammy Hagar, Demi Lovato, Slash, Kelly Clarkson and Chad Smith, as well as Foreigner vocalist Lou Gramm.

The 2024 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Ceremony was livestreamed on Disney+ and can be viewed on the platform. ABC will premiere a special “2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony” program featuring highlights of the event on January 1 at 8 p.m. ET.
