Dave Matthews Band Unearths Rarities In Noblesville

Dave Matthews Band played their 41st and 42nd concerts at Ruoff Home Mortage Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana on Friday and Saturday nights. The septet loaded the setlists with treats at the venue originally known as Deer Creek.

The surprises came right from the start, as DMB used “The Best Of What’s Around” as the opener on Friday for the first time since September 2, 2016. Later in the night, the group dusted off “If I Had It All” from 2001’s Everyday after 2,596 days on the shelf. The song was last played way back on May 19, 2012. Then, towards the end of the set, Dave Matthews Band busted out “Write A Song” for the first time since August 25, 2018 and just second since 2015. “Grace Is Gone” preceded “All Along The Watchtower” in the encore, which marked the former’s initial appearance in the slot in nearly 12 years.

On Saturday, the seven-piece opened with “Anyone Seen The Bridge” for the first time since August 23, 2007. The 20-song performance also included the tour debuts of “Minarets,” “Idea Of You,” “Squirm,” “Fool To Think,” “Rooftop” and “Water Into Wine.” Saturday’s “Water Into Wine,” a song last played in full way back on June 26, 2015 featured Dave backed only by bassist Stefan Lessard. DMB said farewell with an encore of “Two Step” and “Ants Marching.”
