Dave Matthews Band continued their extensive summer tour on Friday night at Harveys Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena in Stateline, Nevada. The septet had a few surprises in store, including the tour debut of “Rhyme & Reason.”

DMB opened a show with “#41” for just the second time this summer last night. Just the fifth “You Never Know” of the tour followed before the group went with more familiar fare in “Funny The Way It Is” and “Come Tomorrow.” Next up was the tour’s fourth “Lie In Our Graves” and a string of staples that included “Satellite,” “Can’t Stop” and “Grace Is Gone.”

The band worked “So Much To Say” into “Anyone Seen The Bridge” and then a cover of Steve Miller Band’s “Fly Like An Eagle.” The latter has been played often this summer but usually out of “Jimi Thing” unlike last night. DMB then performed “Crash Into Me” after a 15-show layoff. “You Might Die Trying” and “Samurai Cop (Oh Joy Begin)” led into the return of “Rhyme & Reason.” The Under The Table And Dreaming track was last performed on December 15, 2018. The seven-piece went on to end the set with a run of “The Song That Jane Likes,” “You & Me,” “The Last Stop” and “All Along The Watchtower.” A partial “Kill The Preacher” kicked off an encore that also included “Why I Am” and “Don’t Drink The Water.”
