Dave Matthews Band Ends 1st Leg of Summer Tour With 3 Shows In Florida

After keeping a tight rotation of songs in their setlists over the course of recent weeks, Dave Matthews Band treated Florida to a trio of varied performances as they wrapped the first leg of their Summer Tour over the weekend. A night in Tampa and two nights in West Palm Beach offered fans in attendance a mix of songs from across the veteran group’s vast catalog.

The three-night Florida run began on Wednesday, July 27 in Tampa at MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre with a lengthy rendition of “Lie In Our Graves.” A couple songs later frontman Dave Matthews led the first “Black And Blue Bird” performance of the year which was followed by a well-jammed “Crush.” Other highlights in Tampa included stretched out takes on “Proudest Monkey,” “Say Goodbye” and “#41.”

After a day off, DMB continued their Sunshine State run with the first of two shows at Perfect Vodka Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach on Friday, opening with “When The World Ends.” Favorite “Stay Or Leave” was then played for the first time this month followed by only three repeats from Tampa. New tune “Samurai Cop” was mixed among staples “Warehouse,” “The Last Stop” and “Recently.”

Saturday’s setlist was completely different from the prior evening’s show, with only five songs played in Tampa returning for the finale that kicked off with “Squirm.” The tour closer offered performances of “Pig,” recent addition “Bob Law,” ”Sugar Will,” “Don’t Drink The Water,” “Gravedigger,” “Where Are You Going,” “Typical Situation” and the main set ending classic “Ants Marching.” Matthews and crew closed out the night with a two-song encore made up of “Two Step” > “Halloween.”
