Dave Matthews Band Takes It Back To Bethel 2010 For ‘Live Trax Vol. 67’

Dave Matthews Band announced Live Trax Vol. 67: 7/13/10 Bethel Woods Center For The Arts, due out on October 25. The latest in DMB’s live archival series is previewed with concert opener “Squirm.”

Dave Matthews Band rolled into Bethel Woods Center For The Arts, located near the Woodstock site, in Summer 2010. DMB had released the Grammy-nominated Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King the year prior, the group’s first studio album since the tragic death of founding saxophonist LeRoi Moore due to injuries he sustained in an ATV accident. “GrooGrux” was a nickname for LeRoi.

After Moore’s passing, Béla Fleck and the Flecktones saxophonist Jeff Coffin joined guitarist Dave Matthews, drummer Carter Beauford, bassist Stefan Lessard, guitarist Tim Reynolds, fiddler Boyd Tinsley and trumpeter Rashawn Ross in the DMB lineup.

Dave Matthews brought the above lineup to Bethel in 2010. The Dave Matthews Band website further detailed Live Trax Vol. 67:

In 2010, though the release of Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King was relatively fresh, these live tracks bring a more lived-in sound that evolves with the band in the post-LeRoi Moore era. Songs like “Lying in the Hands of God,” “Funny the Way It Is” and “Time Bomb” all have their own moments of pure rock energy that resonates with the storied Bethel Woods location. The band clearly leaves nothing unsaid from the first notes of “Squirm” to the closing sounds of “All Along the Watchtower.” This concert recording is sure to satisfy all DMB fans seeking a high energy DMB experience.

Classics performed in the Bethel show include “Bartender,” “Don’t Drink The Water,” “Lie In Our Graves” and “Ants Marching.” The show got underway with Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King’s “Squirm.”
