Jimmy Kimmel surprised ER Nurse TJ Riley, who works on the frontlines of the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic at a New York City hospital, by having Dave Grohl perform a Foo Fighters classic for him on Monday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live. Grohl treated the Foo Fighter fan to a solo acoustic rendition of “Everlong.”

Kimmel brought Riley onto last night’s at home edition of Jimmy Kimmel Live to discuss his experience both surviving a case of COVID-19 and working in the emergency room at a facility at ground zero of the pandemic. Jimmy noted he learned TJ was a Foo Fighters fan and welcomed Dave Grohl to the show via video chat.

The host told the nurse he would receive a $10,000 donation to spent any way he wanted and then asked if Grohl had a surprise for him. Dave said he happened to have a guitar with him and went on to serenade Riley and the television audience to “Everlong” as images of nurses on the frontlines were displayed.
