Alexandra Sauser-Monnig of Mountain Man unveiled the “Shining Woman” video from Dawnbreaker, her debut album as Daughter of Swords. Dawnbreaker is set for release via Nonesuch Records on June 28.

“I wrote ‘Shining Woman’ at a moment when I was feeling really stuck and wrapped up in ideas about what being an adult woman looks like,” explained Sauser-Monnig. “The vision of this powerful person alone on a bike trip not asking permission from anyone appeared out of nowhere, and took up residence in my mind. Like my subconscious staging an intervention and reminding me that I haven’t died, there are no rules, and that I have the power to make different choices for myself.”

Dawnbreaker features 10 tracks co-produced with Nick Sanborn of Sylvan Esso. Sauser-Monning previously shared the title track and “Gem” from the LP. Alexandra recruited her Mountain Man band mates Molly Sarlé and Amelia Meath (also of Sylvan Esso) to contribute to Dawbreaker. Multi-instrumentalist Phil Cook and guitarist Ryan Gustafson also appear on the record.
