Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour concluded with a final concert on Saturday at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. An impressive array of special guests helped Lauper punctuate her live performance career, with the finale featuring appearances by Joni Mitchell, Cher, SZA, John Legend, Trombone Shorty and Jake Wesley Rogers.

Trombone Shorty was onstage extensively with Lauper at the Hollywood Bowl, including adding his horn to the New Orleans favorite “Iko Iko,” which has been a staple of the tour’s setlists. The trombonist performed with Lauper on Friday night at the Hollywood Bowl as well. That show also saw Mickey Guyton and Angélique Kidjo sing alongside Lauper.

Legendary singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell was next to share the stage with Lauper. The 81-year-old, who Lauper called her “hero,” sat next to Lauper – who played a washboard – for a rendition of “Carey” from Mitchell’s landmark 1971 album, Blue.

John Legend came on after Mitchell exited and joined Lauper for one of her signature songs, “Time After Time.” Tour opener Jake Wesley Rogers then made his usual end-of-set appearance with Lauper for a cover of The Brains’ “Money Changes Everything.”

Lauper’s final encore began with “Shine.” Next up was the appearance of SZA, who accompanied Lauper on another of her signature songs, “True Colors.”

The last song of Cyndi Lauper’s farewell tour finale was the one that gave the tour its name, “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.” Lauper brought out fellow Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer Cher for the “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” singalong that wrapped the concert and final tour.
