Cover Alert | The String Cheese Incident Covers Jessica

By Scott Bernstein Nov 7, 2014 12:40 pm PST

Colorado’s The String Cheese Incident began Fall Tour 2014 with a two-night stand at the Lincoln Theatre in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. The tour opener included a rare take on The Allman Brothers Band classic “Jessica.”

SCI first tackled the Dickey Betts-penned composition on October 27, 1999 in Portland, Maine and it’s been played sporadically ever since. Tuesday night’s version was only the fifth since 2008. Our favorite part is when keyboardist Kyle Hollingsworth channels Chuck Leavell’s signature piano solo. Watch fan-shot video of “Jessica” from Washington, D.C. thanks to Douglas Criscitello:

The String Cheese Incident plays the Tower Theatre near Philadelphia tonight and the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey tomorrow.
