String Cheese Incident brought a three-night stand at the Fox Theater in Oakland to a close on Saturday night. One of the biggest surprises of the run took place during the second set, when the band welcomed guitarist Scott Law for a cover of “Shakedown Street” by Bay Area legends The Grateful Dead.

The Colorado-based band debuted their full version of “Shakedown Street” at the Theater at MSG on October 31, 2001 and then performed it again at the Dobson Arena in Vail, CO on March 27, 2007. Though they’ve teased and jammed on “Shakedown” since, last night was the full monty.
