Cover Alert | Rich Robinson Covers Derek & The Dominos

By Scott Bernstein May 27, 2014 9:00 am PDT

On Saturday night Rich Robinson and his eponymous band kicked off a busy season of touring at Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, CA. Robinson’s five-piece is touring in support of The Ceaseless Sight, the Black Crowes co-founder’s third solo album, which is due on June 3.

The biggest surprise of the evening was a cover of Derek & The Dominos’ “Got To Get Better In A Little While” that came towards the end of the band’s main set. Rich performed the Clapton classic 21 times in 2006 with The Black Crowes and now it appears to be part of his solo band’s repertoire as it was played on Sunday as well at the Santa Cruz Blues Festival.
