Cover Alert | Jenny Lewis Covers Shakedown Street

Chanteuse Jenny Lewis has crossed the indie-jam divide recently by adding a cover of the Grateful Dead classic “Shakedown Street” to her live repertoire. Lewis and her four-piece debuted the cover on Friday in Northampton, Massachusetts and have performed “Shakedown Street” at the two shows that followed.

We’re thinking her long-time friend, producer and musical collaborator Ryan Adams –who’s never hidden his love of the Grateful Dead -can appreciate Jenny embracing “Shakedown Street.” Perhaps the pair will perform the cover together for a show in San Francisco next month.
