Cover Alert | Iron And Wine & Ben Bridwell – This Must Be The Place

Iron & Wine’s Sam Beam and Ben Bridwell of Band of Horses will release a collaborative covers album, Sing Into My Mouth, on July 17. Today, the pair have unveiled streaming audio of one of those covers –Talking Heads’ “This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody).”

The album will be jointly issued through Beam’s Black Cricket record label as well as Bridwell’s Brown Records (via Caroline). The longtime friends recorded the 12 cover songs that comprise Sing Into My Mouth at Echo Mountain Studios in Asheville, North Carolina. In addition to the Talking Heads song, Sing Into My Mouth features covers ranging from Sade to Pete Seeger and includes takes on songs by Ronnie Lane, Bonnie Raitt, John Cale, JJ Cale, El Perro del Mar, Spiritualized, Them Two, Marshall Tucker Band and Unicorn.
