Cover Alert | Holly Bowling Covers Dark Star

Pianist Holly Bowling posted another video of her performing solo a well-known rock song. Her latest video finds Bowling alone in front the keys playing a rendition of the Grateful Dead’s “Dark Star.” Clocking in just under nine-minutes, Bowling’s version explores much of the space built into the song without venturing too far from its core.


Bowling recently announced the release of her upcoming solo piano double album, Distillation of a Dream, featuring two LPs of Phish’s music. The album is available via a PledgeMusic campaign. Though “Dark Star” isn’t on the album, you can watch Holly’s take on the tune below.
