Jam titans Gov’t Mule continued their 20 Years Stronger Tour in Albuquerque last night, where they celebrated drummer Matt Abts birthday at the Sunshine Theatre. The band’s monster second set included the group’s first cover of “All Apologies” by Nirvana in nearly a year.

For Mule’s New Year’s show in 2008, they presented “Temple Of The Mule” in which they covered a number of gems from the grunge era including “All Apologies.” Warren and Co. covered the tune twice during that New Year’s Run and have only played the Nirvana song a total of ten times including last night. Haynes also took an opportunity to honor the birthday boy after Abts’ drum segment in the second set. The show came to a close with a “Foresaken Savior” and “Working Class Hero” encore.
