Cover Alert | Foo Fighters Perform Tom Sawyer By Rush

Foo Fighters brought their world tour to Rio on Sunday night for a performance at Estádio do Maracanã in the Brazilian city. Dave Grohl & Co.’s 150-minute show contained a B-Stage portion featuring a slew of covers including the band’s second-ever rendition of “Tom Sawyer” by Rush.

The Foos first performed “Tom Sawyer” on June 8, 2000 and according to Setlist.fm Sunday’s take on the Rush tune was just the band’s second ever. You may recall that Grohl inducted Rush into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in 2013 and also performed with the legendary Canadian trio at the ceremony. “Tom Sawyer” was just one of the covers played by Foo Fighters on the B-Stage along with takes on Faces’ “Stay With Me,” KISS’s “Detroit Rock City” and the Queen/David Bowie anthem “Under Pressure.”
