Cover Alert | Beck & Jenny Lewis – Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?

For each of the past two nights singer-songwriter Beck has welcomed opening act Jenny Lewis to share the stage for a duet on Rod Stewart’s 1978 smash “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” Beck and Jenny first unveiled the cover on Wednesday night at Marymoor Park in Redmond, WA and reprised the duet last night at McMenamins Historic Edgefield Manor in Troutdale, OR.

Beck, in particular, gets really into his vocal delivery in the Redmond version, starting an ad-libbed verse with “we could go all night! Just you and me and Jenny and a couple of friends, there’s enough room in the bed tonight.” He also shows off some funky dance moves. Hansen’s band honors the original with a spot-on rendition that even includes the synth riffs found in Stewart’s version.
