Next month Milk! Records will issue a compilation album entitled Good For You composed of six new songs recorded by artists on the Australian label. One of those artists, rock singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett recorded a new track “Three Packs A Day” that’s included on the comp and been made available to stream in advance of the LP’s release.
The new song was recorded by guitarist/vocalist Barnett and bandmates drummer Dave Mudie and bassist Bones Sloane, and features a guest spot by labelmate Fraser A. Gorman on harmonica. Other artists besides Barnett and Gorman who made recordings for the compilation were Ouch My Face, East Brunswick All Girls Choir, The Finks and Jen Cloher. Head here to pre-order the album which is due out on February 14.
Give Barnett’s ode to Ramen noodles, “Three Packs A Day” a spin, followed by Fraser A. Gorman’s “Skyscraper Skyline Blues” which is also on the record.
In addition to the newly shared single, Barnett has also confirmed a batch of new concert dates in the U.S. Among the newly announced shows includes stops in Vancouver, Portland and Seattle during the week between Coachella weekend appearances. She will also hit up Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit and the Nelsonville Music Festival in Ohio and Governors Ball Music Festival in New York City.
