Watch Courtney Barnett Perform ‘Write A List of Things To Look Forward To’ On ‘Ellen’
The guitarist leads her band through a single from her new ‘Things Take Time, Take Time’ studio album.

Courtney Barnett returned to Ellen today for a musical performance. Barnett led her touring band through “Write A List Of Things To Look Forward To” on Monday’s episode of the syndicated talk show.
“Write A List Of Things To Look Forward To” appears on the guitarist’s recently released studio album, Things Take Time, Take Time. The 10-track LP, Barnett’s third, was recorded in her native Australia with producer/drummer Stella Mozgawa.
Barnett took the title for “Write A List Of Things To Look Forward To” from a technique she employed while battling depression. “I found a deeper communication with people in my life – deeper conversations,” the guitarist said regarding how she felt after coming out of a dark period. “And a new level of gratitude for friendships that had been there for so long that I had maybe taken for granted.”
